Ulasan 2

Ulasan ini dibuat berdasarkan video berjudul "Virtual Memory: 8 Page Faults" yang diunggah oleh kanal David Black-Schaffer di situs YouTube. Video berdurasi 6 menit 30 detik tersebut dapat diakses melalui https://youtu.be/bShqyf-hDfg. Video tersebut diunggah pada tanggal 14 Juli 2014 dan sudah ditonton 45.968 kali saat entri blog ini dibuat pada tanggal 17 Mei 2017.

Video tersebut menjelaskan secara singkat tentang page fault. Page fault terjadi ketika page yang ingin digunakan tidak ada di dalam RAM. Hal ini bisa diketahui dengan melihat apakah page table entry menunjuk ke disk atau tidak. Page fault membutuhkan waktu yang lama untuk mengatasinya, bisa mencapai sekitar 80 juta cycle. Beberapa OS seperti iOS dan OS X 10.9 menghindari page out dengan melakukan kill atau compress pada program.

Video tersebut menjelaskan page fault dengan sederhana dan jelas. Video juga diselingi dengan beberapa pertanyaan singkat yang dilengkapi dengan jawabannya. Selain itu, poin-poin utama ditampilkan menggunakan bullet sehingga mudah untuk dipahami.
